A family with a long history in business and the construction industry, the company was formed as R. E. Miller Builder and Contractor, when Rudolf Miller emigrated from Europe and started his company. The business specialized in commercial and residential construction, with crews ranging up to 80 men.
E. H. Miller, the second generation, ran construction crews for his father’s company for many years. After teaching electronics as a Sergeant-Major in WWII, Ed obtained an electrical contractors licence after the war, and ran electrical crews simultaneous to working with his father.
G. E. Miller, the third generation, upon graduating with a Masters degree, re-vitalized and continued the family business in the Victoria area. Over the years, Greg has expanded his construction background with numerous courses and certifications in cabinetry construction, bench work joinery, boat building, furniture manufacturing, refrigeration and air conditioning, K-13 spray insulation, shower door fabrication and installation, R2000, building science, construction estimating, and management courses.
The company belongs to and is active with the Canadian Homebuilders Association, National Kitchen and Bath Association and the Better Business Bureau.
Our staff and/or management are in regular attendance at a wide variety of seminars and training programs. Our commitment to ethics in the marketplace ensures that you the client, can have confidence and security with a contractor who will work with you, and bring the highest levels of quality to your project.
We are pleased to have received many recognitions by our peers over recent years with Regional, Provincial and National awards from the Canadian Home Builders Association, with some 19 awards for both customer service and excellence in craftsmanship in the past several years alone, including two Silver Grand Georgie Awards for “Best Renovator In British Columbia”.
